（1）Carpet Laying (But not a must)  You may put an underlay under it. This will prevent the carpet slipping, give better foot feels, absorb the moisture of the floor and prolong its life.

(2) Dirt removal（dust catcher is not recommended）  With good air permeability, silk carpet is not easy to absorb the dirt. So generally you just need to pat or brush over the dust once a week. When it accumulate much dust, you can use the light dust catcher to absorb the dust in direction hair. Don’t suck up the fringe.

(3) Partial cleaning Avoid the water or other liquid sprinkling on the carpet. If making it wet out carelessly, use a clean water-absorbing white cloth or towel to soak up as much liquid as possible immediately and then take it to the well ventilated place to make it dry. If the stains are hard, wipe it with a damp cloth, then use a cloth with clean warm water combining some white vinegar to brush softly. If urgently, a drop of shampoo would also work out. Remember always work from the periphery towards the center of the stain. Also, YISI is always ready to help you solve that!

(4)Overall cleaning  Generally speaking, your carpet may have a complete professional wash every two or three years. Make sure the back of the rug is completely dry before you use it again. The frequency of the cleaning depends on the specific condition. One of our customers came to clean his silk carpet for the first time after using it for seventeen years.

(5)Preservation  Avoid retting or damping it for long. Take the carpet to a ventilated and cool place without the straight sunburn to air one time a year. You can roll it in direction of the hair within brown paper and place it in a dry and ventilated place to store. Do not put the carpet in the plastic bag for long. Every one year, please shift the direction of the hair of the carpet so as the carpet can get the balanced force and color.

1.制图Drafting

按照客户订做的图案或是设计师根据市场流行度设计的新颖图案，制图师按照所需的图案进行制图、晒图、标号。图纸制成后，编织工人便完全根据图纸进行一丝不苟的编织，不允许偏差一丝一毫，编织后必须与图纸一样逼真完美。

According to the patterns clients order, or the popular patterns designed depending on the popularity of the market, the cartograghers make drawings, print and grade. After the drawing is finished, the weavers will weave carefully according to the drawing. Even a tiny bit weave can’t be wrong. After finish weaving, the carpet must as perfect and vivid as the drawing.

2.Fixing the warp

按不同道数进行挂经,以英尺为单位，划上比例尺是编织地毯的第一步，它的好坏直接关系到一块地毯的毯型及质量，这通常要求手工技师有着娴熟的技巧，可以一气呵成，以保证挂出的经疏密及拉力均匀。

Fixing the warp and marking the scale according to different lines at the unit of feet is the first step of weaving the carpets. It’s quality is related with the shape and quality of a carpet directly. It usually need the exquisite skills of craftsmen. They should ensure the force and thickness average and balanced.

3.打结编织

3.Hand-knotting

手工打结是一种很古老的编织方式，对于图案设计所描绘的形象，手工技师左手拿色线，右手拿刀，前后打结，拉框过纬线，再进行拍打，然后用刀砍断色线，留1.5公分长，保持丝线一致，毯面平整，边要直，毯型正。这种双打结编织的方式将设计师精心设计的图案在地毯上栩栩如生地表现出来，每平方英尺用花线220克-250克，一个工人编织一条300道5×8英尺的丝毯需要14-20个月，800道1.4×2英尺则需要40-50个月。而制作一块1000道的丝毯，用料和头发丝差不多粗细，即使带着放大镜，一个姑娘完成后，视力也会不同程度地下降，通常就不再做第二条了。这种高道数真丝地毯成品编织时尤为不易，最为珍贵，极具收藏价值，经久耐用，很多人买来做传家宝用，因此它也有“软黄金”之称。

Hand-knotting is an ancient weaving way. For the scene the drawing show, the craftsmen hold colored string in the left hand and take knife in the right hand, knot back and forth, move the rime, pat it and then cut the string, leaving 1.5 cm long left. The pile of the carpets should be neat and smooth. The fringes should be straight. This double-knotting way present the well-designed pattern vividly. Every square feet carpet costs 220g-250g colored strings. A craftsman will spend 14-20 months weaving a 300 lined 5ft×8ft carpet. Weaving a 800 lined 1.4ft×2ft will cost a craftsman 40-50 months. Using silk as thin as hair, wearing magnifying lens, spending years, girls’ eyesight are impaired after weaving a 1000-lined carpet and never capable of making the second one. The weaving process of  high-lined carpets is painstaking. The carpets with high quality are valuable. Many people bought them for collections or heirlooms. Hence the name “soft gold”.

4.Sniffing

当一块新的地毯织成，它将被从机架上小心剪割下来，进入平剪环节。平整工人要求有精湛的平整技术，采用平毯机将地毯表面多遍平整，以确保地毯表面光滑平整滑爽。

After a new carpet is finished, it will be cut down from the rack and ready for straight sniffing. The sniffing workers are required to have exquisite sniffing skills. They use the sniffing machines to sniff the surface of carpets repeatedly to ensure the the surface of the carpets are smooth, neat and comfortable.

5.清洗-自然风干

5.Washing-Natural withering

以现代的水洗技术，多次去除污垢以及残丝。然后将地毯拿出室外，放于架子上，在无太阳暴晒时自然风干直到毯子的正反面以及全部干透。

Using modern washing technologies, the dirt and remained silk in the carpet is totally washed. Then put the carpets outside on shelves to have a natural withering without sunburn. The carpets will be take outside until they are totally dry.

6.挽穗

6.Weaving fringes

接着，技师会仔细检查整块地毯是否有瑕疵，并对毯型进行修正，最后进入挽穗的环节，手工技师们会根据每张地毯道数花色尺寸的不同对穗种进行仔细甄选，选定最能体现地毯艺术美感的穗种进行挽穗。这样，一张精美的纯手工真丝地毯就完成了。

And then, the craftsman will examine and fix the flaws of the whole carpet. Finally, they begin to weave the fringes. Craftsmen will choose different fringe styles according to the density, color and size, ensuring the chosen fringe style is the most suitable one for the body. After this process, a beautiful handmade silk carpet has been weaved.

7.熨烫

7.Ironing

熨烫是地毯生产过程的最后环节，工人脱掉鞋子，跪于地毯上，手拿两只熨斗，细心检查褶皱的每一部分进行熨烫，并确保熨斗的温度对于真丝地毯来说刚好适宜。熨烫完成后，一张完美的地毯便完成了。

Ironing is the last process of manufacturing. The ironing workers take off their shoes, bending their knees on the carpet, holding two electric irons, examining every plicated place and ironing. It’s required that the temperature of the iron is just suitable for the carpet. After the ironing, a perfect carpet is totally finished.

8.检验进库Examination

所有流程结束后，每一张还必须通过检验与图纸一样逼真完美。经厂方技术人员严格验证后再经国家轻工业鉴定认可，我们的产品才能走向市场。

After the end of all process, every carpet also needs to pass the examination that it satisfies all the requirements of the drawing. After verified by the technical people of our factory and appraised by the Light Industry Department, our products can circulate in market.
